You don't need much for a great sauna evening, but a few things make a big difference. Here is our packing list – the same one we send to our guests.
The basics
- A bath towel to dry off with
- A small towel to sit on in the sauna
- Swimwear, if you like (the raft is private)
- Water – lots of water
- A change of dry clothes for afterwards
Food and drinks
- Snacks – fruit like watermelon, oranges or grapes is perfect in the heat
- Sandwiches, a picnic or something to grill (a gas grill can be hired)
- Something nice to drink – avoid red wine, it stains the wood
- A rubbish bag to take your waste home
Extras in winter
- Slippers or swim shoes for the ice and the cold deck
- A hat and gloves between dips
- Warm clothes for the walk across the ice
- A thermos of something hot
Good to know
There is no shower – you rinse off in the lake. A toilet is only available for emergencies, so go before you set off. Life jackets for the boat trip are available, just ask.
