The best team activity is often the simplest: take the group out into nature, do something a little unusual together and leave room to talk. An afternoon on a sauna raft does exactly that.
Why sauna works for teams
In the sauna, job titles disappear. Everyone sits on the same bench in the same heat, and conversations are different from those in a meeting room. The cold dip becomes a shared challenge people talk about long afterwards – and anyone who doesn't want to swim can sit on the deck with a coffee.
Sample agenda
- 1pm – Meet at the pick-up point, row out to the raft.
- 1.15pm – First sauna round and a dip for those who want one.
- 1.45pm – A short workshop or reflection on the deck.
- 2.30pm – Coffee or a barbecue on the raft.
- 3.15pm – Last sauna round and dip.
- 4pm – Row back, on to dinner.
