A great stag do mixes a bit of challenge, lots of laughs and good food. Here are ten ideas that work in Stockholm, and how to put them together into a day the groom will talk about for years.
1. A private sauna raft with cold dips
Hire a whole sauna raft for the group. Row out, warm up in the wood-fired sauna and compete for the most cold dips. It's all private, so you control music, food and drinks. Sjöbastun on Lake Drevviken takes up to 12 people.

2. A barbecue on the raft
Rent a gas grill and barbecue right on the raft between sauna rounds. Sausages, burgers and something cold to drink – hard to beat.

3. Kayaking or rowing
Go for a kayak tour – or a rowing race to the raft. In Sköndal you can rent kayaks via Kayakomaten, close to Sjöbastun.
4–10. More ideas
- Challenges throughout the day – the groom earns points for missions.
- Golf, padel or bowling – something competitive.
- A shooting range or clay pigeon shooting outside town.
- A beer tasting or brewery visit.
- Cooking with a chef – and eating it yourselves.
- A suit theme or matching shirts.
- Dinner in town and out from there.
How to plan the stag do
- Pick one main activity and build the day around it.
- Plan food and transport – and someone to keep an eye on the clock.
- Sauna and swimming: save the alcohol until you're done with the dips, and never swim alone.
- Book early, especially summer weekends.
