A great hen party has a relaxed pace, something a little challenging and plenty of time to talk. Here are ten ideas that work in Stockholm – and how to put them together into a day the bride will remember.
1. A private sauna raft on the lake
Hire a whole sauna raft for the group. You row out, the wood-fired sauna is ready, you swim from the raft and toast on the deck as the sun goes down. It's private, so bring your own music, food and bubbly. Sjöbastun on Lake Drevviken takes up to 12 people, 20 minutes from the city.

2. A sailor theme
Match with sailor hats, striped tops and a captain's sash for the bride. The theme goes perfectly with a boat trip and makes for great photos.
3. Kayaking or SUP
Paddle before the sauna. In Sköndal you can rent kayaks via Kayakomaten, a short walk from Sjöbastun. Just enough effort, and a fun way to see Stockholm from the water.
4. A picnic or barbecue
Pack a picnic with good food and drinks, or rent a gas grill for the raft. Food always tastes better after a cold dip.
